Allyix · Handmade for the holidays
The Christmas bouquet that’s still here in January.
A hand-crocheted Santa, a red yarn rose, a little tree and a star, wrapped up with pinecones and greenery and tied with a ‘Merry Christmas’ ribbon – with its own gift bag and card in the box. No water, no wilting, no vase to find.

Stitch by stitch
What’s in the wrap.
Every bloom is crocheted by hand, then arranged with the real-looking bits – cones, greenery, berries – into one finished bouquet. Here’s the full cast, as photographed.

The set
Three pieces. One finished gift.
Nothing to buy on the way – the bag and the card are in the box.

Measure first
Hand-held, table-sized.

About 13.8 in tall × 9.8 in wide (35 × 25 cm) wrapped – picture a sheet of Letter paper with three more inches of height. It’s a bouquet you hold in one hand, not a floor arrangement.
That size is the point. On a dining table it’s a centerpiece you can still talk across. On a mantel or bookshelf it fits between the stockings and the photos without rearranging anything. On a desk it sits where a mug would.
The gift list
Who gets one.
It’s the Christmas gift for people you’d send flowers to – if flowers lasted and didn’t need a vase.

Why yarn
Fresh flowers vs. this bouquet, in December.
A general comparison with typical fresh-cut bouquets – no florist in particular.
| Fresh-cut bouquet | Crochet bouquet | |
|---|---|---|
| Lifespan | About a week in water, less in a warm room | Years. It’s cotton yarn and pinecones. |
| Water & care | Trim, refill, change the water | None. Dust it once in a while. |
| Scent & pollen | Fragrance and pollen – lovely until someone sneezes | Unscented, no pollen (listed spec). Classroom- and office-safe. |
| Shipping | Needs a local florist and a same-day window | Travels in a box, arrives wrapped, with bag and card. |
| Vase | Required – and the recipient has to find one | Not required. Stands in its bag or leans on a shelf. |
| Next year | Compost | Back in the bag, out again next December. |
Set it out
Four ways to show it.
Out of the box in under a minute. No scissors, no water, no floral foam.

Care & storage
Dust it, don’t water it.
- ✿Dust with a soft brush or a cool, low hairdryer. Yarn holds dust the way a sweater does – a quick brush every few weeks keeps the colors bright.
- ✿Spot-clean only. A barely damp cloth on a mark; don’t soak the yarn, the paper wrap or the pinecones.
- ✿Indoors only. Cotton yarn, paper and dried cones don’t like rain or damp – this is a table and shelf piece, not a porch piece.
- ✿Keep it away from flames. Yarn, tissue paper and dry cones are all flammable – don’t set it beside candles, the fireplace or hot bulbs.
- ✿Out of direct sun. Strong daily sunlight fades reds first. A mantel or a table away from the window keeps the rose red.
- ✿Store it in its bag. In January, slide it back into the gift bag standing up, so the blooms aren’t crushed, and keep it with the ornaments.
