The four pieces

A costume, not a cover-up.

Each piece goes on separately, so the goose looks dressed rather than wrapped – and you can leave the cape off on a mild day.

Detail display of the four pieces: festive Christmas tree hat, fluffy plush collar, classic red cape and tiered Christmas tree dress
A7.5 in
Star-topped tree hat
A green cone with a tinsel texture and a yellow star on top. It sits on the head with a strap at the base, as pictured.
B5.5 in
Fluffy plush collar
A ring of green plush at the base of the neck – the “garland” of the costume, and the piece that hides the join between cape and skirt.
C5.9 in
Red cape
Red with a white edge, over the shoulders and wings. The piece that makes it a Christmas tree with a Santa streak.
D10.6 in
Tiered tree skirt
Layer on layer of green ruffle, each edged in gold tinsel, with a gold bow at the front. This is the piece people see from the street.

Which goose?

Your gooseFitNotes
Standard 23 in porch goose – concrete, plastic or resinYesThis is the size the outfit is cut for. Material does not matter; height and body size do.
Slim 23 in gooseYesIf the skirt sits loose, a safety pin at the back takes it in – the cape covers the top of the skirt, so the pin stays out of sight.
Mini or “gosling” goose, 13–16 inNoThe 10.6 in skirt would reach the ground and the hat would cover the eyes.
Jumbo goose, 30 in and upNoThe pieces are scaled to 23 in.
Measure once
Stand the goose on a flat surface and measure from the base to the top of the head. 22–24 in is the standard porch goose and the right one for this outfit.

Why this outfit

Why the neighbors slow down.

Six things the set gets right – starting with the fact that it is a whole costume, not a hat.

1
A whole costume in one box
Hat, collar, cape and skirt – four coordinated pieces, so you are not matching a skirt from one seller to a hat from another.
2
It reads as a tree from the sidewalk
Tiers, tinsel and a star on top make the silhouette unmistakable at forty feet – not just “a goose in green.”
3
Pieces, not a onesie
Four separate parts go on in about a minute and come off the same way. Cape off for a mild day, hat only for a quick nod to the season.
4
Made for porch duty
Polyester throughout, sold as outdoor Christmas décor. Covered porch is its happy place; bring it in for a storm – see care below.
5
Folds flat in January
No frame, no wire. Fold the skirt, flatten the cape, stuff the hat with tissue and it stores with the goose’s other outfits.
6
The goose gets a calendar
Allyix dresses the same 23 in goose for Halloween and the Fourth of July too, so the porch has a reason to change outfits all year. [

Dressing the goose

Four pieces, about a minute.

Bottom up, star last. Then walk to the sidewalk and look back.

1STEP
Skirt first
Settle the tiered skirt around the body with the bow to the front and the lowest tinsel tier just clear of the ground.
2STEP
Then the cape
Drape the red cape over the shoulders and wings, white edge out, so it covers the top of the skirt.
3STEP
Collar over the join
Slide the plush collar down to the base of the neck. It sits on top of the cape and hides where cape meets skirt.
4STEP
Hat and star
Set the tree hat on the head with the strap under the beak and the star pointing straight up. Tilt it a touch forward if the goose looks too serious.

Where the goose stands

By the door, under the light.

The goose is the greeter. Put it where guests see it first and the porch light reaches.

Porch goose in the Christmas tree outfit on a front porch beside a white door with a wreath, a lantern and wrapped gifts
Beside the front door. The classic spot – wreath above, goose below, lantern at its feet. It is the photo everyone takes.
Bottom of the porch steps. Where the walkway turns – the goose greets before the door does. Keep it under the roofline if the weather is wet.
Under the porch light. Tinsel and a yellow star want light; a warm porch bulb or a strand of lights along the rail does the job after dark.
Inside for the party. Beside the tree, by the fireplace or at the end of the buffet – the goose makes a better conversation piece than a centerpiece.
In the neighborhood display. Next to the inflatables and the light show, a dressed goose is the thing people point at from the car.

Indoors, park it beside the tree for the party – same outfit, no weather to think about.

Weather & care

Porch, not open lawn, when it pours.

It is made for outdoor display. A little sense about weather keeps it looking new for more than one season.

Covered porch is ideal. Polyester shrugs off a drizzle; soaked plush and tinsel dry slowly and flatten. Under the roofline the goose can stay out all season.
Bring it in for storms. Heavy rain, wet snow or high wind: lift the hat and cape off and bring the whole goose in – the outfit comes off in a minute, remember.
Shake, do not wash. Shake off snow and dust, air-dry fully before storing. Spot clean with a damp cloth.
Fluff the tinsel. Packed tiers arrive a little flat. Shake the skirt out, run your fingers along each tinsel edge and it stands up again.
Store folded, hat stuffed. Fold the skirt and cape flat, stuff the hat cone with tissue so the point keeps its shape, and bin it with the goose’s other wardrobe.
Décor, not a toy. Tinsel trim and small pieces – keep it from small children and pets that chew, and off the ground where dogs patrol.

Questions

Asked before adding to cart

Is the goose included?

No – this is the outfit only: hat, collar, cape and skirt. It is cut for the standard 23 in porch goose statue (the concrete or plastic lawn goose sold at garden centers everywhere). If you have one, you are ready.

Will it fit my goose?

If your goose is the standard 23 in size, yes. Porch geese vary a little by maker: on a slimmer goose the skirt may sit loose, and a safety pin at the back fixes it in ten seconds. It will not fit the 13–16 in “gosling” size or 30 in jumbo geese.

Can it stay outside?

It is sold as outdoor Christmas décor and lives happily on a covered porch all season. In heavy rain, wet snow or strong wind, lift the pieces off and bring them in – soaked plush and tinsel flatten and dry slowly.

How do the pieces fasten?

The hat has an elastic strap that goes under the beak, the cape closes at the front, the collar is a stretch ring, and the skirt slips over the head and settles on the body.

Is the cape real velvet?

It is polyester, like the rest of the set, with a velvet look.

Can I use only some of the pieces?

Yes – that is the point of four separate pieces. Hat and collar alone give a light touch for a mild week; skirt and hat read as a tree without the cape; the full set is for the photo.

Concrete goose or plastic goose – does it matter?

No. The fit is about height and body size, not what the goose is made of. Heavier concrete geese simply hold still better in wind.

Do you make other outfits for the same goose?

Yes – Allyix also dresses the 23 in goose as a Halloween witch and in red, white and blue for the Fourth of July. Same goose, three holidays.

How should I store it?

Fold the skirt and cape flat, stuff the hat with tissue so the cone keeps its point, and keep everything together in a bin or zip bag with the goose’s other outfits. It takes less room than a shoebox.
